As I sit here in Avon, Ohio getting my thoughts together for my travel back home to Mass I am thinking of all of the very generous people who have contibuted to my ride. Every dollar that I have raised through their generosity goes DIRECTLY to Cancer research at The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston,MA. I am eternally grateful to all in helping me fight this disease.
Now it is my time to shine ! I have been looking forward to this ride since last summer while on a visit back home. I stopped by my buddy Steve Gaebels house and "bent his ear" about the ride. We were geting into it then all of a sudden......From the background " who the hell is drinking MY Bud Light?"..Well, that's M Dow... It was over a few adult bevs that I became enamored with the event. Being of the sound mind at that time I was Committed to this years ride. Honestly I have found it hard to find time to train as much as I would have liked. I do believe that I will be fine on the ride itself though. Although there are many people riding for many different reasons, mine is special to me,. No way I am letting the big man down. I won't be the first in Provincetown, but I won't be the last either. I plan on enjoying each pedal across the 192 miles. When I tell my son Trevor that I will be gone from home for about 5 days he gets bummed out. Then he remembers why I am leaving home..."so you can help save someone elses Bumpy"....You're dam right buddy !!!!! Many thanks to Team Lick Cancer from Acton,Ma for welcoming me to the Team. Ride ON Baby !!
